The Bridge of Hope Child Advocacy Center is currently hiring two full time positions, a Full-Time Outreach Coordinator and Full-Time Advocacy Coordinator. The mission of the Bridge of Hope Child Advocacy Center is to ensure that suspected victims of child abuse are not revictimized by the system designed to protect them. The Bridge of Hope Child Advocacy Center coordinates a multidisciplinary team response to allegations of child abuse and neglect in a safe and child-focused setting.

Advocacy Coordinator

The Advocacy Coordinator’s goal is to provide crisis intervention and ongoing advocacy to children and non-offending caregivers that come to the facility.  The Advocacy Coordinator is responsible for recruitment of volunteer advocates, and coordination of the advocacy program.  In addition to advocacy, the Advocacy Coordinator is responsible for coordination of client mental health referrals and mental health provider communication.  The Advocacy Coordinator must maintain timely, thorough and accurate case documentation to include all contacts with victim and/or non offending caregiver.  The Advocacy Coordinator plays a vital role in assisting the MDT with measuring effectiveness and addressing identified system improvements.

Outreach Coordinator

The Outreach Coordinator’s goal is to market the mission of the agency and to deliver/develop education initiatives. The Outreach Coordinator will be the lead in seeking, establishing, and maintaining positive working relationships with public and private schools, daycares, hospitals, community agencies, community groups, volunteers, and multidisciplinary teams and/or agencies to educate and train personnel in the area of identifying victims of child abuse, the proper steps to take to report the abuse, and the role of Children’s Advocacy Centers in child abuse investigation. When not providing the services listed, the Outreach Coordinator will provide direct services such as forensic interviews and advocacy.  

Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree is preferred, with a focus in social work, criminal justice or a related field is preferred but not required.  Must possess a high degree of communication and interpersonal skills; strong ability to communicate and interact with children and individuals in crisis. Knowledge of community resources, fundraising skills, computer skills, and expertise in the area of child abuse/neglect and domestic violence is beneficial.   

Must respect and maintain confidentiality and be able to work with a difficult subject matter. Rotating on-call duties required. Position involves out of town travel; must have access to a vehicle, possess a valid Nebraska driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance.

Individual should be a self-starter, energized, resourceful, organized, detail-oriented and flexible, possessing a positive attitude, tact, good judgment and cultural sensitivity. Upon completion of training must have significant knowledge of best practices related to cases of child sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, witness to domestic violence and child exploitation and trafficking.
