ROAR!
ROAR was developed by the Care Center in Oklahoma and is officially endorsed by Erin Merryn (founder and President of Erin’s Law. This program teaches body safety and how kids can keep themselves safe. Child abuse is a difficult topic to cover, but we promise these conversations are important. ROAR gives children and caregivers the tools to talk to stand up against child abuse.
Using ROAR, we teach children ages 4-8 how to protect themselves from child abuse through a fun, interactive lesson in body safety and empowerment called ROAR. ROAR is an easy to remember acronym that teaches kids the “Rules of ROARing.” The Rules of ROARing are:
R- Remember, privates are private
O- Okay to say no
A- Always talk about secrets
R- Raise your voice and tell someone
ROAR was designed for classroom settings and is always completely free! So let us know if you want us to bring ROAR to your child’s school! ROAR lessons can be done in less than 30 minutes and all students get to take home materials to help parents reinforce the important skills they have learned when they go home.
